Megan Auby Speech Therapy and Audiology has been open since January 2020. Megan has studied further and in 2017 completed the LSLSA training for working in the field of Auditory-Verbal Therapy for children with hearing loss (University of Stellenbosch). In 2019, She completed the Makaton Introduction Course; Makaton is a method of communication often used for children with limited speech (ASD,CP, Apraxia). In 2021, Megan completed the Introduction course to PROMPT therapy and in 2022 she completed the PROMPT Bridging course; PROMPT therapy is a evidence-based method used in supporting children with significant speech difficulties. What people are saying about the practice!
I would like to thank Megan personally for changing my life via my husband. He was born deaf in the left ear and despite many rands wasted on audiologist whose seemingly just wanted to make a profit for themselves by selling us junk. She didn’t just test my husband in a sound proof booth, she tested him in the room and out of the room. He also had to be outside while she was inside, speaking to me. She has enabled him (via Cross-hearing) to hear me while we traveling. I can honestly say that Megan has saved our 50-year marriage, because if he had to say HUH? one more time whilst wearing the old junk, I would have beat him to death with a brick!!

“Thank you Megan Auby for making a difference in my son’s life. When we first met you, he had serious stuttering problems. He couldn’t express himself in public and infront of strangers for fear of being laughed at. After a few therapy sessions with you, there was a significant improvement in his speech. He is confident that he is well equipped to face his fears, especially in the classroom. Through your therapy sessions he has learned a lot to help him cope and control his stuttering. I am very thankful for the journey that you took with him. Your experience and patience when working with teenagers paid off. I usually travel by taxi with him when going to work in the morning and I can honestly say he is able to express himself confidently infront of strangers. We will continue to encourage him to use the skills he acquired through your session. Keep well and continue to make a difference in other people’s lives.”
