Why we collect it
We only collect information we need in order to:

- keep accurate clinical records, as required of health professionals
- submit claims to medical aids and manage accounts

Children’s information
Many of our clients are children. We only collect and use a child’s personal information with the consent of their parent or legal guardian, and only for the purposes of their assessment, therapy and care.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it when it’s needed for your care or required by law, for example with:
- your medical aid, to process claims
- referring doctors, specialists, schools or other therapists, with your consent
- hearing aid manufacturers and suppliers, for ordering, fitting, warranties and repairs
- trusted service providers who help us run the practice, such as our billing system, email and website providers, who must also keep your information confidential
Some of these providers, such as our email and website services, may store information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we only use providers subject to data protection standards comparable to POPIA.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, including secure storage of paper and electronic records, password-protected systems, and limiting access to team members who need it for your care.
How long we keep it
We keep clinical records for as long as required by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and other applicable laws, generally at least six years after your last visit, and for children, at least until their 21st birthday. Information that is no longer needed is securely destroyed.
